Spring is Here!

This card I made for SCS sketch challenge #165. It's pretty fun doing these challenges! I am actually getting involved in some of the swaps also! What an awesome idea! Anyhow, the patterned paper is Dream Street, the beige and pink CS is American Paper Co., the stamps are Michaels $ stamps, the saying along the bottom is off of Fiskars Clear stamps, the star is grungeboard, and the ribbon, who knows?! Enjoy!

I made this card for my first SCS Sketch Challenge (159). I used Cherry Arte patterned paper, plain black and white cardstock, Gina K and Heidi Grace stamps, Archival Black ink, Color Box Peony Ink for the sentiment, Clear embossing powder, Prismacolor water pencils, Michaels $ embellishments. What do you think?

Oh Happy Day

My God Daughters 7th birthday is coming up so this si the card I made for her. The Happy Birthday sentiment is inside the card.

Pink & Brown!

Pink and brown are 2 colors I wouldn't think about putting together but they certainly do look great together! I was inspired by this (the layout) card from a sketch challenge, but I can't remember who's blog I got it from? Sorry!

Sweet Pea

Sorry the image is crooked. I was too lazy to go back aqnd scan it again straight. Anyway, my nephew and his girlfriend are expecting a son in about 2 weeks. I figured I'd get a card ready to send when we get the call that the stork has landed! The stamped image was a $1.00 stamp from Michaels. The stars, heart and crown are grungeboard.
Thanks for looking!

RIP Mr Spooner

This is just a simple card I made for my Mom. She's been listening to me gripe alot lately about everything going on in my crazy life at the moment. It's just a quick note to make her smile!

RIP Mr. Spooner. Tony's uncle passed away yesterday. Whenever me and Tony went to St. Croix (Tony is from St. Croix) we always stayed with Auntie and Mr. Spooner. He was a great guy with a terrific sense of humor. Tony will be leaving on Wednesday to go home for a week.

OMG, I have no idea how I am going to survive without him for a week, with a dog ready to give birth and a sick father having to stay with us.......

Bella Mania

Loving my Bella stamps! I used Art Glitter Clear Adhesive Glue and fine glitter for Ms. Bella, her balloons and cupcake. The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Say It With Stamps.
Again, Ms. Bella walking her pooches. Same materials as above. This is definitly not one of those instant gratification cards. If someone is impatient (ofcourse, not me, never) it could drive you crazy waiting for the glue to dry...waiting hours.....tick tock, tick tock........
The lamp is from Stamping Bella and the phrase is from Hambo stamps!

I am trying out my new scanner. It's a Lexmark, 3-n-1. It's a scanner, for me....a printer for Jaz school work.....I'm not sure I like it though....I don't think my scanned images are crisp....What do you think?!

Eye Candy

Bella, Bella, Bella.....hehehehehe

The above 3 cards are from a class I took this week at The Scrappy Stamper. Diane gave the course and the class was called Serendipity Tiles. They used cat eye inkers for these and I happen not to own any. It was fun to play with a different type of ink pad but I'm not sold on them. I think (for now) I'll be able to live another day without having to run out and purchase every single color I can find of the cat eyes!

Tulips

These are the beaudtiful tulips Tony got me for Valentines Day! Aren't they gorgeous?! They get longer and brighter each day!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy, Happy Valentines Day to all!! I hope everyone is having awonderful day filled with love! As for me, I am currently at work. Blah, blah....Me and Tony weren't able to make any plans for the night because unfortunaly, my father is in the hospital.
He went in last week to have his right kidney removed due to cancer. Well, my father not being the picture of health (he could actually be the poster board man for how to live an "unhealthy life style) came by many complications. Let's go down the list....he contracted MRSA, heart rate too high, blood pressure too low, not enough urine output, severe fluid shift form surgery (he's swollen like a balloon), and to top it all off he got a lung infection and was not receiving enough oxygen and basically lost his mind. Now, when I say he lost his mind, I mean HE LOST HIS MIND. He became initially child like. You had to keep repaeating things to him over and over. Then he decided he wanted to go home. Called me up and said bring his clothes he was ready to go home. Mind you, he's ICU. The he became completly non-compliant with the hospital. Then the hallucinations and the "conspiracy theories" about the secret experiments that were being done to him. He was compltly LOOPY. Eventually, the hospital had to reintubate him because he wouldn't leave his oxygen make on (that was another conspiracy). So, my father has been under heavy sedation for 3 days now while they try to clear up his lung infection so that he can get enough oxygen on his own so that he is not a complete mental case.
Now, I hate to say anything negative about the V.A. (Veterans Affairs) where my dad is being cared for BUT......that place is like a zoo!!! My father has been ion the hospital 3x in the past year and this is the second time he has contracted MRSA! That just seems unreal to me! I could go on and on about how I REALLY feel about the V.A. but I'll just leave it at that for now.
I wish I could post something today but I havn't downloaded any new pictures yet. Maybe tomorrow!!
I'm off! See ya!

UPDATE: Dad is ok now....back to his "normal" crazy self and will be released from hospital anyday now.

Allright....

OK, si I have figured out how to add other blogs, stores, etc. to my blog. And.....I actually did it on my own!! Now on to figure out why my pics I posted are soooo tiny! Could it be the way I have my camera set up? HMMM.......

It's obvious!

It's obvious I have no clue what I am doing on here! lol. I don't know how to place other people's blogs on my page, don't know how to increase the size of my pictures (no matter what I click when I'm posting them), don't know why my second post has the link to each picture! WOW! I may have to enlist the help of my 11 year old! Be patient, I'm trying to figure it out!

The class was given by Robin (sorry didn't get her last name) and this project of hers was actually published! The class took 5 hours , but was so much fun! The name of the project is Mon Ami and we repicated the portfolio and 4 cards.

First Post!

Well, this is my 1st post on my first blog! I decided to start a blog because I am always looking at other stampers and crafters blogs for inspiration! I also love to check out what stamps everyone is using. This way, I can buddy up some fellow stampers and hopefully make some friends!

I'll start this off by telling you a bit about me. Like I said above, I have a daughter, Jaz who is 11 going on 18. I have been with Tony for 8 years now and we are going to be getting married some time this year! I'm sure I'll be talking about that event frequently!

We live in Miami, FL and are also dog breeders. We breed Alapaha Blue Blooded Bulldogs and German Rottweilers. We have run out of space where we are living now so we are preparing to put our house on the market and move up to Central Florida where we can afford more land. It is $$$$ down here!

I started off stamping by way of scrapbooking. My girlfriend dragged me into kicking and screaming and I've been hooked ever since. I havn't scrapbooked in ages and am really all about the cards right now. I think it might be that "Immediate Gratification" thing. I also do other little projects along the way and love taking Stamping and Card classes. I'll post some pictures of some cards and projects I have done.
